Thibaut Courtois, Real Madrid's goalkeeper, emphasized the difficulty of accepting his team's heavy defeat against Manchester City.
Manchester City won on Wednesday evening against Real Madrid at the Etihad Stadium with four goals to nil in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.
City advanced to the Champions League final after winning on aggregate with a total of five goals to one.
Courtois stated via the UEFA website, "It is difficult to accept defeat.
The result could have been better or worse, but we feel disappointed."
He emphasized, "We know how difficult it is to play here.
They wasted some chances, and we knew the pressure that awaited us."
City has set a date with Inter Milan to meet in the final at Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul on the 10th of June.
This is the second time City has reached the Champions League final after 2021 when they lost the match against Chelsea.
City is still competing for all three titles: the English Premier League, the FA Cup, and the UEFA Champions League, as they continue their quest to achieve what has only been done once in English football history, by Manchester United in 1999.
