Roma settles for a draw against Salernitana in the Italian league

 



Roma failed to secure a victory against visiting Salernitana, settling for a positive draw (2-2) in the match held on Monday evening at the Stadio Olimpico, as part of the 36th round of the Italian league.

Under the guidance of Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho, Roma has already qualified for the UEFA Europa League final, where they will face Sevilla on May 31st.

Salernitana took the lead in the first half through veteran Antonio Candreva's goal in the 12th minute. In the second half, Stephan El Shaarawy managed to score the first goal for Roma in the 47th minute However, Salernitana struck again in the 54th minute with a goal from Boulaye Dia, putting the visitors ahead once more.

Roma managed to equalize with a goal from Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic in the 83rd minute.

The draw leaves Roma in sixth place in the Serie A table with 60 points, trailing fourth-placed Milan by 4 points.
