AC Milan, the Italian club, is entering into a battle with their neighbor, Inter Milan, over four transfers in the upcoming summer transfer window, in order to strengthen their squads for the next season.
While Milan is currently fighting Inter for a spot in the UEFA Champions League final, the competition between them extends to the transfer market, as both clubs are looking to sign four players to bolster their squads, according to Football Italia, today on Monday.
Milan and Inter are both vying to secure a new striker. The Rossoneri are seeking to bring in a forward to alleviate the pressure on 36-year-old Olivier Giroud after the failed deal for Divock Origi. Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri are working on finding a partner for Argentine forward Lautaro Martinez in the front line.
Both Milan clubs are interested in signing Matias Retegui, who plays for Tigre in the Argentine league and is currently leading the league's top scorers this season. The network also mentioned another attacking option for both clubs, 23-year-old Belgian striker Lois Openda, who currently plays for French club Lens and has scored 19 goals in his debut season in Ligue 1, surpassing Lionel Messi and Neymar in the race for top scorers.
In addition to the duo, Inter and the Lombard club are eyeing two players who are active in the Italian league, namely Thomas Baldanzi, a striker from Empoli, and Giorgio Scalvini, a young striker from Atalanta who is 19 years old.
