The Egyptian Football Association responds to the "derogatory" international report

The Egyptian Football Association has expressed "strong dismay" at the sudden statement issued by the International Federation of Professional Footballers, which "advised" against foreign players signing with Egyptian clubs due to the increasing problems between players and their clubs.

The Egyptian Football Association stated its "strong objection" to the statement issued by the International Federation of Professional Footballers, which contains a lot of inaccurate information that should not be generalized to all Egyptian clubs.

The Egyptian Football Association clarified several points in coordination with the Egyptian Professional Clubs Association:

The number of registered Egyptian clubs is 113, so there is no need to manipulate the process of obtaining international player cards.
The Egyptian Football Association has approximately 268 foreign players across different divisions.
Only two complaints were received regarding the temporary withholding of passports in the past four years, which were related to the completion of players' residency procedures.

Passports were returned immediately after the intervention of the association.
The Egyptian Football Association has adopted unified contracts approved by FIFA and FIFPRO since 2020.
If some players sign contracts without specifying the value, duration, or currency, it is the responsibility of the player and their agent to research and act in the player's best interest.

The Egyptian Football Association has all the necessary litigation procedures in place to ensure that each party's rights are respected in accordance with the association's regulations, which were approved by FIFA in 2022.

The Egyptian Football Association strongly rejected the statement issued by FIFPRO.

FIFPRO outlined the reasons for the disputes in its report, citing "non-payment of salaries" and abusive behavior such as confiscation of passports and forgery.
They warned that "the likelihood of resorting to legal measures increases when players move to Egypt.

Mahmoud Abdel-Ghany, the president of the Professional Players Association in Egypt, commented on FIFPRO's report, stating that he had requested the intervention of FIFA to amend internal regulations to safeguard the rights of players, but he had not received any response.
