Manchester United shatters Liverpool's dreams and returns to the Champions League

Manchester United secured its return to the UEFA Champions League for the upcoming season after defeating a struggling Chelsea 4-1 in a postponed match from Matchday 32 of the English Premier League on Thursday at Old Trafford.

Manchester United needed just one point to secure their qualification to the Champions League alongside Manchester City, Arsenal, and Newcastle.

However, their three points from the victory over Chelsea propelled them to the third position with 72 points, ahead of fourth-placed Newcastle with 70 points.

United effectively ended any remaining hopes for Liverpool to qualify for the major European football competition, as the Reds trailed behind by a six-point margin in fifth place before the final stage.

Under the guidance of Dutch coach Erik ten Hag, the team achieved a sensational start as Brazilian Casemiro opened the scoring in the 6th minute, followed by Frenchman Anthony Martial doubling their lead before halftime 45+5

Portuguese player Bruno Fernandes further increased his team's tally with a third goal in the 73rd minute from a penalty kick, while substitute Marcus Rashford sealed United's goal fest in the 78th minute.

It's worth noting that Chelsea managed a consolation goal through Portuguese player João Félix in the 89th minute.

Manchester United can now celebrate their return to the Champions League, having missed out on the competition this season in favor of their participation in the Europa League, where they were eliminated in the quarter-finals with a disappointing loss to Sevilla.
