An Espanyol forward compensates for Benzema's departure at Real Madrid

Spanish reports today revealed that Real Madrid has made a decision regarding their striker for the upcoming season to compensate for the departure of Frenchman Karim Benzema.

The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" confirmed that the striker for Real Madrid will not be Frenchman Kylian Mbappe or Englishman Harry Kane.

The newspaper clarified that the striker who will be signed by Real Madrid is Spanish forward Joselu Mato from Espanyol, and the club is waiting for the end of the international break next Monday to announce the deal.

"Mundo Deportivo" continued, stating that the idea of signing Mbappe is certainly tempting for Real Madrid, but they do not want to engage in any conflicts with Paris Saint-Germain. Additionally, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez does not intend to pay €200 million to sign a player whose contract expires at the end of the next season.

On the other hand, the Catalan newspaper "Sport" claimed that the name of Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus has been proposed to Real Madrid for a one-season loan, for a fee of only €12 million.

"Sport" added that the player does not mind the idea of going out on loan in the upcoming season, and the final agreement remains to be reached with Juventus, who prefer to sell him for €70 million.

Benzema left Real Madrid after the expiry of his contract at the end of this season and joined Al Ittihad Jeddah on a free transfer deal.
