A Spanish newspaper report today revealed the truth about Barcelona's interest in a major deal from the English league
According to the Catalan newspaper "Sport," Barcelona is not considering the signing of Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimarães from Newcastle.
This comes despite speculations in the English media suggesting that Barcelona is willing to offer €100 million to secure the player's services.
The newspaper further added that Barcelona is well aware of the "impossibility of the deal" due to the player's price, and they will not waste any time in negotiations.
Guimarães joined Newcastle from Olympique Lyon in January 2022 for over €42 million. He is currently in talks for a contract extension that expires in the summer of 2026.
Previously, Guimarães' name had been linked to a potential move to Real Madrid as a replacement for Casemiro, who departed for Manchester United.
